Here are some of our recent projects

Project:

Mary Portas Secret Shopper

Mary Portas Signs
Location:

City of London & Fareham

Client:

City Hardware & The 157 Store

The Project:
The Channel 4 team approached us to design some creative signage for the new season of Mary Portas Secret Shopper. In episode 3, the programme featured City Hardware, located in the city of London on the corner of Old Street and The Barbican, we re-purposed corrugated roofing which we felt was very fitting for a DIY store. In episode 4, we hand crafted a polished and riveted aluminium sign for men's fashion retailer The 157 Store in Fareham which celebrates British mod culture.

Project:

Picturehouse Cinemas

Locations:
Picturehouse Central London
Picturehouse Crouch End
Picturehouse East Dulwich
The Project:
External: Cinema Readograph Signs  | Entrance Canopy  |  Window Vinyls
Internal: Custom Café Peg Boards  | Internal Readograph  | Café Brass Lettering  | Colour Changing Signs & Screen Numbers  |  Wayfinding Signs  |  Member’s Bar Bulb letters.

Picturehouse approached Goodwin & Goodwin, working to a brief set by leading architects Panter Hudspith. The signage has many references to Art Deco and the glamorous golden age of cinema but all brought right up to date, such as the art deco style screen numbers with modern colour changing lights. The exterior readographs have lots of architectural details which reflect the buildings listed building status. The project involved working on busy building sites working along other trades to complete the work.

Project:

Coca Cola

Coca Cola Signs

Location:

South Moulton Street

Client:

Saatchi & Coca Cola

The Project:
Our first signage project with Coca Cola was to promote their new drink ‘Life’. The 2 day event was held in a pop up shop on South Moulton Street, London and was opened by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. We provided the plywood cut sign in the window hung with steel bars and illuminated with 100 white LEDs and a copper ‘TASTE’ channel also illuminated with LEDs.

Our second project was to provide the Coca Cola sign in their traditional script logo, we hand bent the metal casing and illuminated the sign in our signature bulbs. The sign was used in promotional events for the Rugby World Cup.

Project:

Rock Festival, Germany

Location:
Rock Am Ring, Mendig Germany
The Project:
Approx 20 signs with Rusted Bulb Letters, sizes ranging 3m up to 12m in length.
2 Billboards with rusted bulb letters and rusted 3m wide cinema readograph signs
7 Day installation working at height working alongside scissor lift and fork lift operators

The Rock Am Ring Festival is one of largest rock festivals in Europe attracting over 90,000 visitors over the weekend. All the fabrication for this project was done in our London workshop, over 200 letters were made by hand and rusted with our special ‘in-house’ recipe. We carefully packed two extra long Mercedes Sprinters before our team made the 400 mile drive to Germany. Working alongside the German installation team the Goodwin team worked closely with scissor lift and fork lift operators to help install over 20 signs over the 7 days, all signs were installed at height.

Project:

BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing

Location:

Elstree Studios

The Project:
World Sign, Movie Sign, Diner Sign, Lighting for Judge’s Desk, Lighting for dancing floor

We worked with the Strictly prop making team on a number of lighting projects. Some of these projects were completed on site at Elstree Studios and in our workshop. Most projects demanded very short notice quite often with only a few days to turn projects around before the show aired live on the Saturday night.

Project:

Spotify for Ad Week

Location:

Ad Week @ Scala King's Cross, London

The Project:
Custom Illuminated Sign using fairground lights & LEDs

We worked Gorilla Events to design this back drop for Spotify during Ad Week, the client was looking for a creative solution to display their brand at their concerts. The marquee letters were all hand fabricated and fitted to two large black boards and fitted with scaffold clamps so they could be fixed to the client's scaffolding at different events. Special attention was made to get the exact green from the Spotify logo and the colour was mixed and painted in-house.
